Redesigning a Worksheet

Picture
In our very first session we were asked by our instructor to bring along a old worksheet, which we got in school, university or somewhere else for next week. The worksheet itself had not to be well structured or designed, because our first task in this course was that we had to redesign the original worksheet in this particular order:

1. First we had to analyze the original worksheet concerning its overall structure, the relationship of elements on the worksheet, the hierarchy and dominance of the elements. In order to visualize the connection and effects of the elements to ourself we had to draw a simplified grid of the original worksheet.

2. After analyzing the original worksheet our task was to redesign the worksheet according to the list of improvements we wrote down during the analysis. Microsoft Word were our tools to work with.

My worksheet was an exercise sheet I did in the tutorial to the “Introduction to Anglophone Literature" reading I did in my first semester in university. It contained some exercises about the analysis of poems and stylistic devices used in poems. It had no header, no footnotes and no sequential order of exercises. Additionally no space for solutions or orders where to put the solutions were listed.

The redesigned worksheet makes a way more organized and tidy impression. The exercises are in sequential order and enough space or directions for the solutions are offered. In addition to that the worksheet is split up into to pages in order to provide a more tidy and organized impression.
