Personal Feedback

All in all I have to admit that this course was one of the most informative and best courses I have had in my university career. This is because of the following points:

1. Personal Interest

Personally I am very interested in the New Media in general and I am very enthusiastic about the possibilities New Media offer us future teachers in our upcoming profession. As indicated in some of the tasks, portfolio entries and the collaborative booklet the class created during the course, these possibilities seem to be endless and are just waiting to be explored, discovered and tested.

2. Homogeneity of the course

I believe that I was not the only one in the course who was so enthusiastic about the tools, information or knowledge this course was offering. All of the course participants were at least partially interested in the outcome of their work and that is why I would say that the group was very productive at the execution of their tasks and group work.

3. Diversity of class meetings

As an advice for future participants of this course I have to state the following: Do not think of this course as an ordinary seminar. Sure, you meet once a week, but you do not meet in the computer- room every time. We took one field trip to the Martin-Luther-Schule to find out about the technical equipment a public school offers their teachers and had a chance to talk about the application of New Media in lessons with one teacher (see First Field Trip + Task 1).

Another special class meeting was the online conference with Matthias Heil, a teacher in Fulda who is another New Media enthusiast. In this online conference several online tools which are suitable for in-class use were presented. (see Online Conference).

4. Preparation by our instructor

One of the main aspects that these tools, information and knowledge were conveyed so fluently and easily was the perfect preparation by our instructor. Having in mind that most of the tools were completely unknown to most participants, our instructor did a very good job to familiarize each student with each tool. Thank you for that!

Despite all the good personal feedback I want to list the things the class liked about the course as well as the points the class wished to be improved. In our very last session our instructor asked us to list all these things on a virtual dashboard called wallwisher:

Conclusion

I really liked the course because of the vast new didactical and methodological  techniques it offered us. With all these new possibilities at hand I cannot stand to wait for my professional life as a teacher to begin...
